Every day, while surrounded by water and so closely connected with the rhythms of nature on MacDonald Spit, I had to pinch myself that this was my reality. How full of gratitude I was and still am that the opportunity arose to experience a month of living directly with the sights, sounds, and smells of coastal Alaska. I kid you not when saying that every moment was full of wonder: from sunrises and sunsets, volcanoes and glaciers, glassy inner bays and stormy seas, to eagles, sea otters and frequent full rainbows.
