Alaska—September 2020Homer
Known as the “Halibut Fishing Capital of the World” and located at the opening of Kachemak Bay, Homer is about a 30 minute fast boat taxi ride across from MacDonald Spit. I spent a couple of days off in Homer and appreciated the grand views of the Kenai Mountains glaciers across the bay. Following the month on MacDonald Spit, I again went to Homer, then took the scenic 225 mile Sterlings Highway to Anchorage.
