Alaska—October 2020Chena Hot Springs Resort & Aurora Ice Museum
This unique resort, near Fairbanks, is where I hoped for the best opportunity to witness the Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis. Although the conditions were not perfect (cold, clear, dark, + another mysterious factor) for the lights to be visible, it was fun trying. A bonus was a tour of the resort’s alternative energy technology Aurora Ice Museum in which all the art is carved from, you guessed it, ice; even the Appletini glasses and the bar from which they are served.
